Abstract

The focus of the article was to describe the process of measurements due to the quality and efficiency of public institutions and government. The indicators described in the text, created by independent international organizations, were used to elaborate country rankings, which helped to identify the differences between quality of government processes. The article presents the most popular indexes, which estimate the scale of this phenomenon in Poland against the background of the European Union. Poland is placed on very low position in this comparison, which means the country is wrongly managed. Strengthening of Poland’s position in the European Union structures requires redesigning of many public institutions, economic reforms, and „remedying” political life.
